Intro to UNICEF's Data Manifesto: Using Animation to Build a Better Future

Engaging an audience that's already overflowing with information and steering their attention towards an 80-page lengthy manifesto is no small feat.

This challenge was brought to us by UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, in May 2021. After months of preparation, working with 17 global experts, UNICEF developed a Manifesto that articulates and calls for a better approach to managing children's digital data in the 21st century and beyond.

Our mission was to find a way of telling the Manifesto's story and its importance in under 3 minutes, lighting a spark of interest and an urge to take action among decision-makers, activists, and parents around the globe.

With this animated video production, our main challenge was turning that complicated 80 pages manifesto into a digestible, engaging, compelling script. To do that, we collaborated with the authors and the creatives at UNICEF and figured out the most essential part of the story we want to tell to drive interest and lead to UNICEF's website and the complete materials.

When it came to visualizing, illustrating, and animating this unique video, our team at Silueta didn't hold back. We started with a storyboard full of original illustrations that were then meticulously animated, narrated by our talented voice actor, and brought to life with a carefully crafted soundtrack.

We produced this rich whiteboard animation video to pay great respect to both the children and the hard-working teams that work on the Manifesto.

At Silueta, we shine brightest when given the privilege to help make the world a better place. If you're a charity, a non-profit, or an organization that strives to create a better future - we're here to help you do just that.
